Mr. Soo Dyeog Han - Executive
Vice President, New Business Development
Soo Dyeog (SD) Han was appointed Executive
Vice President, New Business Development of LP Displays on
January 1, 2007. Previous to that, he was the company's Chief
Purchasing Officer since July 1, 2005.
Mr. Han is responsible for setting up new
businesses within the organization that will fully utilize
its in-house technologies and competencies.
In his previous role as COO, he was responsible
for the management of the company's manufacturing plants (except
for Dreux and Durham CRT, in France and the United Kingdom,
respectively, and the European Components plants) to pave
the way for speedy decision-making and execution and enhance
CRT operations.
Prior to this post, Mr. Han was Operations
1 Director, based in Nanjing, China, and was responsible for
overall operations of LPD facilities in Mexico, China, Indonesia
and Korea.
Before that, he was based in Gomez Palacio, Mexico as Plant Director. He joined the then LG Corp. in 1979, steadily rising through the ranks, occupying various positions and based in several locations including Tokyo, Gumi and Chicago. He was promoted to Chief of Displays Device R&D Center Gumi, Korea in 1998 and later appointed Vice President of LG Electronics in January 2000.
For his outstanding contribution to the technology
development of Korea, Mr. Han received the “Presidential
Prize to Technology Meritorious Individuals” award in April
2001. His rich expertise in the CRT field was also cited by
the Korea Government when he was awarded the "SukTap
Industrial Decoration by President of Korea" in 2003.
Mr. Han received a BA degree in Electronics
Engineering at the Kyungpook National University in 1977,
and got his Masters in Business Administration at the same
university in 2003.
