
LG.Philips Displays unveils technological breakthrough CRTs to top China TV set makers
LG.Philips Displays has unveiled a wide range of technological breakthrough Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) products to leading China TV set makers.
From September 14-22, 2004, LG.Philips Displays hosted a series of product roadshows in China, one of the fastest growing CRT markets in the world. The product exhibitions kicked off in Mianyang in Sichuan and Shenzhen in Guangdong where LG.Philips Displays’ innovative CRT displays were showcased to China’s leading TV set manufacturers.
More than 200 targeted visitors from the TV set-making companies’ Sales, Marketing, Engineering, R&D and Logistics as well as senior management from the top China TV set markers.
Among the products on exhibit were the 21” Real Flat SuperSlim, 32” Widescreen Real Flat SuperSlim, 34” Real Flat HD, 29” Real Flat Akoca and 28” Widescreen Real Flat. Star products which generated the most interest among the customers were the new SuperSlim product range including the 21” Real Flat SuperSlim and the 32” Widescreen Real Flat SuperSlim, as well as the 34” Real Flat HD with increased sharpness, astonishing brightness and picture color.
21” SuperSlim CRT starts mass production in Nanjing, China
The 21” Real Flat SuperSlim measure only 35 cm from front to back, thus achieving up to a 30 percent depth reduction compared to similar CRT products in the market, just a little deeper than the emerging displays such as Plasma and LCD TV.
LG.Philips Displays has announced the mass production of the 21” SuperSlim in its Nanjing factory in China. The 21” SuperSlim product was initially manufactured in the company’s Durham plant in the UK in December 2003.
New 32” SuperSlim product in development is introduced to customers A 32” wide screen TV set using LG.Philips Display’s SuperSlim Color Picture Tube (CPT) would measure 38 cm, compared with current TV depths of 54 cm. This will give the CRT TV set an excellent flat and stylish design, comparable with flat TV
