LG.Philips Displays’ SuperSlim debuts
in Display China 2005
In response to the market’s keen interest in
SuperSlim, LG.Philips Displays for the first time set up its
booth at the Display China 2005 in Shanghai not only to
introduce its newest product but also bring the company closer
to China’s major TV set makers, retailers and the general
public.
From May 30-June 1, LG.Philips Displays
showcased its CRT technological breakthrough at the Display
China and highlighted its Cybertube+ 21” Real Flat SuperSlim,
32” Wide Screen Real Flat SuperSlim and the first engineering
sample model of the 29” SuperSlim.
Parallel with the show and following the mass production of
21” SuperSlim in HuaFei of its Nanjing manufacturing site, LG.Philips Displays
also held its first press event in Shanghai on May 31 to update key media based
in China and Hong Kong about the Company’s latest business plan and product
development.
Led by Wiebo Vaartjes, Chief Sales Officer, the media
briefing was also joined by Roger Lee, HuaFei General Manager of Marketing and
Sales, and Ron de Man, Eindhoven’s Technical Engineer. The media program was
well attended by 11 key media from Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
“Our decision to set up SuperSlim production in China
demonstrates LG.Philips Displays’ commitment to the CRT industry and the China
market. We have been proven right in our decision to invest in SuperSlim as
shown by the increasing growth in demand since we started last year. Demand has
now reached half a million and we see an enormous growth that will reach one
million by the second half of 2005,” said Wiebo.
After the media briefing, the reporters visited LG.Philips Displays’ booth at
the Display China 2005 where they took away a good understanding of SuperSlim’s
superior performance as well as its stylish design.
