LG.Philips Displays holds customer roadshow in Russia
To capture Russia’s growing TV market, LG.Philips Displays held a customer roadshow and media event at the Renaissance Hotel in Moscow from April 13-15, 2005. During the roadshow, LG.Philips Displays presented its wide range of product portfolio, including the innovative SuperSlim.
Russia, which has the largest population in Europe, is considered an important growth market for the display and TV industry. Major TV set makers of Russia and Belarus including S&W (Standard and Western), Sokal, Vityaz, Polar and Gorizont visited the show. A highlight of the event is the 29” Cybertube+ SuperSlim “light & play” sample shown in Moscow -- the first ever in Europe. Also exhibited were the 21”RF SuperSlim and 32” SuperSlim color picture tube.
TV set makers expressed their keen interest in the SuperSlim product series as they confirmed SuperSlim is not only a brilliant and innovative product but also extends the CRT (cathode ray tube) life cycle. In addition to the SuperSlim series, LG.Philips Displays executives also held discussions on their wide range of products with customers.
The roadshow also featured a SuperSlim media event joined by 20 European key media from Russia, Belarus, Turkey, Ukraine, Poland, Italy, Germany, England, France and the Netherlands. Positive media feedback and news coverage were generated resulting from the impressive SuperSlim product show.
“LG.Philips Displays is extremely pleased to be in Russia and bring our product portfolio, including our innovative SuperSlim technology, to this exciting market. It is an important market for us and we would like to strengthen our relationship here with TV makers as we bring a TV technology with a great mass appeal – excellent picture performance and reliability at low prices and now with a modern and slim design,” said Wiebo Vaartjes, LG.Philips Displays Chief Sales Officer, who leads the LPD team in the Moscow event.
